Raising Cane’s founder, Todd Graves, had a vision for a chicken-finger restaurant since college, but validation for the vision didn’t come easily. Not only did professors doubt the viability, the banks battled belief in his concept, so doors remained closed to financial support. Graves had to risk his life Sockeye Salmon fishing in Alaska to earn the money needed to build his first restaurant. Raising Cane’s opened in 1996. About 25 years later, more than 330 restaurants have been built and with international expansion. Not only does Raising Cane’s bring high quality chicken-fingers, but they support thousands of local and national causes from education and entrepreneurship to pet welfare and feeding the hungry.
